Boyne Outfitters: Shop Position Available

59197306_outfitters_logoThis is a year around, full time job within the fly fishing industry with northern Michigan’s premier fly fishing outfitter.

You will be responsible for serving our guests throughout their visit to Boyne Outfitters from greeting to checkout, handling daily bank balancing/deposits, serving as a fly fishing guide, and assisting the Director of Operations of Boyne Outfitters with all aspects of the business.

A Supervisor’s typical job functions include the following:

•Welcoming customers by greeting them and offering them assistance

•Assisting customers by escorting them directly to racks and counters, and/or suggesting items

•Advising customers by providing accurate information on fly fishing products and services, conditions, techniques, etc.

•Helping customers make selections by building customer confidence through offering suggestions and opinions

•Accepting payments by totaling purchases and processing checks, cash, or credit cards

•Keeping clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise and services of potential interest

•Setup and displaying products and merchandise through the store

•Maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the store and merchandise

•Helping maintain accurate inventory records

•Assisting with shipping and receiving orders for customers

•Serve as a fly fishing guide

•Assisting fly fishing guides as necessary

•Balancing daily banks and deposits

•You are approachable and hospitable. You communicate in a clear and friendly manner, and love to share your love for fly fishing, including history, equipment, techniques, entomology, and fly tying. Knowledge of Michigan fish species and waters, including stream conditions, bug hatches, etc. is required.

•You want to be part of a close-knit team. You have interest in not only serving customers with excellence, you know the value of looking out for the best interests of your fellow team members and can help maintain a fun work environment.

•You are flexible and always willing to learn more. You understand the demands of exceeding customer needs and can work nights, weekends and holidays when needed. You are able to physically lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, and possess a valid driver’s license.

•You are able to serve as a fly fishing guide by maintaining applicable requirements & equipment, and possess the knowledge needed of today’s profesisonal guides.

•You achieved a high school diploma or equivalent, are comfortable handling payment transactions, and have basic computer skills.
