Fly Water Travel is a team of specialized travel professionals who assist anglers and adventurers in selecting and booking domestic and international trips. Our Sales Assistant and Coordinator position is a new and important entry level position with a wide range of duties and preferred skills. The Sales Assistant and Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Destination Managers, the owners Ken and Brian and the Travel Coordinators with all the details pertaining to servicing trips sold as well as all the various office duties associated with keeping company information up to date. The employee will report most directly to owner Brian Gies and focus their attention on those projects Gies deems most important at any given time. This position will definitely include promotional tasks and will likely include direct to customer sales efforts, especially as related to our Lead Agent destinations. The Sales Assistant and Coordinator is expected to foster a collaborative work environment while balancing the needs of staff, vendors and customers. It is essential that this person exercises excellent judgment and discretion when interacting with others and in managing information. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, able to multitask, has strong written and verbal skills and is a serious fly angler. While this is an entry level position, for the right person, this job has excellent growth potential.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
• Create weekly outbound promotion email with input from Sales Team.
• Potential domestic and international travel to select destinations
• General office duties: filing, mailing, input, database management, answering phones
• Coordinate, organize and assemble domestic/international travel and trip specific arrangements
• Interface and communicate with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
• Provide effective support to team members, and customers through reliable, quick and accurate problem resolution
• Calendar management, travel schedule and coordination with internal and external vendors and customers
• Resolve requests successfully providing excellent customer service, while maintaining composure
• Incorporate information to create meaningful and effective documents, spreadsheets, and itineraries using the appropriate MS Office tools, with attention to detail and competent spelling and grammar.
• Function effectively with minimal supervision, in order to prioritize and accomplish multiple, time-constrained tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Prefer Fly fishing experience
• Photography experience
• Prior administrative experience
• Social media and blogging experience
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
• Experience handling multiple tasks concurrently
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Able to anticipate needs and be proactive in resolving difficulties
• Effective problem solving skills
• Excellent customer service skills – demonstrate a professional, positive, and collaborative attitude
• Experience planning and organizing schedules and events
