Finance Analyst

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the position of Finance Analyst. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you will assist in maintaining complete and accurate financial records, work closely with all members of the finance and accounting teams and report to the Accounting Manager.

Duties of this role include:

  • You will work closely with the product team biannually to prepare a complete and accurate product costing plan that will be used by purchasing and planning to drive inventory purchasing decisions.
  • On a monthly basis, you will complete an analysis of actual inventory costs compared to plan. Any variances from plan should be addressed timely and communicated to the necessary parties.
  • You will assist the accounting team in the monthly close process. This will entail the timely and accurate completion of reconciliations and analytics on select balance sheet accounts, such as Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Excise Tax and Inventory.
  • You will provide support for recurring (monthly, quarterly and annual) regulatory and compliance activities such as Annual Financial Statement Audit, Banking and Tax compliance. This will include preparing supporting documentation, performing analyses on account balances and filing reports within deadlines (Royalties; B&O, Excise, Pesticide Taxes, Corporate Annual Reports).

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant course of study
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience with proven success

Customer Care Representative

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill a Customer Care Representative position. This is a full-time, in-house position, based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, the Customer Care Representative will provide superior customer experiences with our professional guides, dealers and consumers at every touch point, creating brand loyalty through expert-level product recommendations, advice and guidance on all things Simms – this is the ‘go to’ for finding solutions for any and all situations that may occur, with a win-win solution as the ultimate goal.

This role will work with all types of Simms customers, ranging from Guides to consumers and dealers, handling all inbound order processing, product recommendation and post-sale activities, such as product returns and warranty needs.

Outcomes of this role include:

  • Efficiently handles order fulfillment through all three channels in a timely manner with the highest level of accuracy
  • Able to provide expert-level product knowledge to a variety of anglers, regardless of experience levels, and sell them into the right product based on their personal needs and goals and recommend appropriate care and maintenance
  • Effectively balances a variable workload, shifting when necessary to meet the demands of the department and company
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism while on the phone or communicating via email
  • Diligently utilizes and understands Simms’ inventory management system, contact center and ticketing management system as well as individual channel ordering sites and associated features
  • Looks for opportunities to improve overall customer experience by identifying and contributing to process improvements

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Strong customer service experience, preferably in the outdoor industry via retail or in-house sales/service
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to problem solve and actively listen with a focus on win-win solutions
  • Capacity to task switch quickly and efficiently, balancing a large inbound phone/email workload
  • Technical aptitude with inventory management systems, Excel and other programs used to track, manage and process orders, product returns and inventory assessment
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the full product line, fabric technologies and expertly explain and recommend Simms products to a variety of anglers and experience levels

Production Manager

This leader will be responsible for the evolution of a best-in-class manufacturing facility. He/she will create an environment of continuous improvement, quality, and innovation, in collaboration with the product and operations teams, and will ultimately be accountable for top and bottom-line goals for wader manufacturing.

He/she will lead a highly engaged, purpose driven and collaborative manufacturing team, producing the highest quality waders in the world while meeting safety, delivery, and cost goals. The Production Manager ensures that Simms is an employer of choice in the Gallatin Valley, anticipating and navigating through changes in the overall labor market.

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

Manages wader production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Creates an engaged culture through a combination of building trust, fostering teamwork, earning respect, and holding people accountable. Works with the Director of Operations to implement production capacity, equipment, and staffing plans.

Maintains a great safety record by participating in safety programs. Coordinates with Product Development on starting production of new products on the factory floor.

Supports efforts and participates in improving processes, quality, workflow, methods, training, efficiency & safety.

Provides and maintains a safe, clean, organized, and well-maintained work environment. Ensures the timely and efficient production of waders & accessories.

Participates in and promotes team involvement in company events. Also engages with Senior Leadership to bring team activity ideas for consideration.

  • Safety (accidents or near-misses/Qtr):  R-1 accident, G-0 accidents, SG-+ safety improvement implemented
