Fishing Bear Lodge: Positions Available

Fishing Bear Lodge has positions open for the 2021 season and beyond. It is a small family owned operation that works as a cohesive group to maintain a positive, efficient and fun work environment. Located in the heart of the Wood Tikchik State Fishing Bear is a REMOTE lodge, offering great wilderness experiences. Fishing Bear provides service for 8 fishermen every week. They pride themselves on creating personalized wilderness fishing experiences and professional fly fishing instruction for fishermen of all skill levels.

Fishing Bear is not a fly out lodge. This allows for unique and exciting experiences for clientele and guides, the ability to fish and exist in true solitude. No regimented aircraft schedule and no heavily beaten rivers.

ALL lodge staff are expected to be a part of a team that operates with the best interest of providing professional service and helping one another to do so. Everyone including ownership is and will be expected to pitch in to all things from fueling boats and doing dishes to splitting firewood. Everyone also gets the opportunity to fish and enjoy the wilds of Alaska when the time permits. Since it is a small operation, do not expect to have “free time” set aside each day (or week), be prepared to work hard and pitch in most days even without clientele.

There is ZERO TOLERANCE for any form of drug use, irresponsible alcohol consumption, VAPE use or smoking tobacco. The tug is the only drug.

Staff lodging is shared weather port tents. Staff and clientele dine together in the main lodge nightly. Internet access is limited only to email, ZERO access to social media or calling capabilities.
