Alagnak Lodge: Guide Positions Available

We need a few additional guides, with a passion for fishing, to join our team of professional USCG OUPV licensed guides. Alagnak Lodge Guides are proficient in all aspects of fly and spin fishing and able to instruct as part of their job. They are responsive to the wants and needs of the clients and work well within the guiding team to deliver a satisfying experience for all our clients. They are expected and encouraged to spend some of their non-guiding time on the river fishing This leads to a better understand both the river and the fish so they can perform to the standards and expectations of the clients and the lodge.
We are a well-established professional wilderness fishing operation with a solid hospitality operation that keeps the clients satisfied. We have a full-time mechanic to maintain everything in good operating condition. You will receive additional support from other staff members. Work hours are limited. You are able to be well rested so you can deliver your best for the clients. Guides are the primary contact point with the all important clients, so you are a valued employee.
We fish two clients per boat, often near our wilderness lodge located on the tidal lower section of the Alagnak Wild and Scenic River. Each guide is provided an 18’ welded aluminum flat bottom boat powered by 40hp Yamaha props. The lodge supplies the standard gear, equipment and supplies for the boat and clients. Guides provide only their personal gear. You are paid for each day you are at the lodge. The lodge pays all your non-personal expenses, including transportation and fishing license. You will be a full legal employee with workman’s compensation and unemployment insurance coverage.
